Brisbane Business Finance Pty Ltd was started by Peter Fraser in November 2000. Peter had been employed by the Commonwealth Bank for 16 years at branches in Country Qld and Brisbane. Most of his banking experience was in lending, having been involved in finance for housing loans, business loans, overdrafts, discounted bills, corporate lending, rural loans, vehicle and equipment finance, margin lending, debtor finance (factoring), leasing, hire purchase, and many variations of these facilities. After leaving the Commonwealth Bank Peter ran his own business for 16 years, experiencing all the highs and lows of being self employed. During this period it became obvious to Peter (and many others) that the major banks were no longer able to cater to small to medium business enterprises in Australia . For the banks this is a high cost area of lending that cannot generate the profits that they achieve with housing finance, or large corporate lending.
